Since we're on the topic, Tantum has a good post here on the topic of CMTV and Michael Voris. I tried to post a comment but I had issues with my Wordpress account - so just in case here's the comment I meant to leave.

Hi Tantum et al,
I see two aspects to this ‘crisis’ within CMTV.
The first is that they are holding two contradictory principles: No criticism of the Bishop of Rome – Head of the College of Bishops, Criticism of any and all members of the College of Bishops – except its head.
Humans are adaptable, but when confronted with this type of contradiction they will seek to resolve it by changing the perception of the action.
Hence CMTV’s recent condemnation of a long held SSPX position, that they themselves substantively held in 2010.
The second is CMTV’s anger and lashing out at the SSPX and other Traditionalists (Remnant, CFNEWS etc). Because these groups do not reinforce CMTV’s perception of the situation and because Pope Francis daily undermines that perception – CMTV is trying to silence all those who poke pins at their bubble.
As an example, the reasons given for banning people who do not agree with their position are incredible. The owner of Suscipedomine was banned for this comment:
“… Keep grinding that axe, Church “Militant” …”
From my perspective (having been SSPX Trad for 30+ years), CMTV and Michael Voris are just one more casualty.
Pray for them and pray for us the we aren’t next.

What the heck is a congregation of "Pontifical Right"

+ JMJ In a discussion with a friend the question occurred to me that I didn't actually know was is involved in being a religious order of 'pontifical right'. I had a vague notion that this meant they reported to Rome as opposed to the local diocese. I'm also aware that, according to the accounts I have heard, the Archbishop received 'praise' and the written direction to incardinate priests directly into the SSPX. This is interesting because it implies that the SSPX priests were no longer required to incardinate in the local diocese but in the SSPX. Is it sinful to attend the Novus Ordo (New Mass) - Is it Sinful to Not Attend the Novus Ordo on Sunday?

+ JMJ A non-SSPX Catholic is upset over the SSPX statements on not attending the Novus Ordo Missae. Ladies and gentlemen, what the SSPX, or at least its website editor, is advocating is a mortal sin against the Third Commandment. Unless the priest deviates from the language of the Sacramentary, the consecration, and thus the rest of Mass is to be considered valid. No one may elect not to attend Mass simply because abuses are occurring therein. Might I suggest that such absenteeism is its own abuse? The Third Commandment binds under mortal sin.
