Canada continues to drift from Catholic Morality (Turn About Is Fair Play), I received the following email a couple of days ago and publishing it here is my attempt to get the Catholic (and Christian) Doctor's in Canada support.

Canada's population is nominally 40% Catholic. If we all were united in our support of Catholic Teachings, politicians wouldn't try stunts like this ... hence the reason why I categorized this posting a 'crisis of the Church'.

Dear <Insert Your Name>,

My conscience is on the line. If I lived in Ontario, I'd probably move my 7 children to another province so I could avoid the tyranny over my professional medical judgment and my conscience.

The Christian Medical and Dental Society and the Canadian Federation of Catholic Physicians Societies have launched legal action against the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and their bigoted policy removing the conscience rights of physicians.

The time has come when doctors now need to fight for the right not to perform abortions, prescribe birth control, or refer patients for controversial procedures.

The CBC has a poll on their website and right now the majority opinion is that doctors should not be able to refuse to provide prescriptions or referrals for matters of conscientious objection.

Here are three concrete things you can do:

1. Click here to vote in the poll. Freedom of conscience is a fundamental freedom, whether the majority recognize it or not, but please raise your voice on this issue.

2. Forward this email to 10 friends and ask them to sign the petition at FreedomOfConscience.ca

3. Let me know your ideas for pushing this issue forward in the public square. Be creative. We're listening and want to build a stronger coalition to fight for conscience rights in Canada. so send me your suggestions for how to win this fight.

What the heck is a congregation of "Pontifical Right"

+ JMJ In a discussion with a friend the question occurred to me that I didn't actually know was is involved in being a religious order of 'pontifical right'. I had a vague notion that this meant they reported to Rome as opposed to the local diocese. I'm also aware that, according to the accounts I have heard, the Archbishop received 'praise' and the written direction to incardinate priests directly into the SSPX. This is interesting because it implies that the SSPX priests were no longer required to incardinate in the local diocese but in the SSPX. Is it sinful to attend the Novus Ordo (New Mass) - Is it Sinful to Not Attend the Novus Ordo on Sunday?

+ JMJ A non-SSPX Catholic is upset over the SSPX statements on not attending the Novus Ordo Missae. Ladies and gentlemen, what the SSPX, or at least its website editor, is advocating is a mortal sin against the Third Commandment. Unless the priest deviates from the language of the Sacramentary, the consecration, and thus the rest of Mass is to be considered valid. No one may elect not to attend Mass simply because abuses are occurring therein. Might I suggest that such absenteeism is its own abuse? The Third Commandment binds under mortal sin.
